Day 29 Current t.v show obsession

I got into this show late. Like real late. Like, this year, I was watching a DVR program and the beginning of a Cold Case episode came on at the end of another show I recorded. Well, of course, I was invested! I had to see how the episode ended. But in searching for it online, I had no idea what the name of the episode was, or what number.

So I started from the beginning of the series. I haven’t been disappointed at all. Some episodes leave me with a tear in my eye.

Day 28 First t.v show obsession

My watching of King of the Hill happened by accident. I attempted to record some program via DVR on a Sunday evening. And when I got home to watch, KOTH was playing at the beginning. I thought it was hangover from a previous program, and sat down to eat dinner while waiting for the real show to come on.

It never did. No matter. I was instantly hooked on this “adult cartoon” thanks to naive Peggy, conspiracy theorist Dale, ne’er do right Bill and slick-mumbling Boomhauer (I have a cousin that talks exactly like him). I started recording episodes until I’d seen them all, twice. I still watch the reruns over and over late at night, and I watch it on Netflix.

It’s just a good show.

Day 27 Favorite series finale

Living Single had the best series finale. Sad to see a great show end, but they did wrap everything up neatly in a nice bow.

  • Max was pregnant, and Kyle returned the show to reunite as a couple
  • Regine had found her millionaire
  • Overton and Synclaire were married, and her career as an actress was taking off
  • Khadijah and Scooter finally got back together
The last line of Khadijah standing in the doorway, saying “Maybe, one more look” before saying goodbye to their brownstone is perfection. Brings a tear every time.

Day 26 OMG WTF? Season finale

One thing I’ve learned is you can always count on True Blood for a WTF? season finale. They never make a damn bit of sense, and you have to wait a year to find out that what you guessed would happen was completely wrong.

Day 25 A show you plan on watching (old or new)

I started watching it, last year I believe, thanks to one of my Tumblr followers recommending it, along with Dexter. I fell off watching it somewhere in season 3 I believe. But I plan to pick it back up because it really is a strange but good show. Kinda like The Addams Family turned on it’s ear, if that makes sense.

The Cosby Show | Season Four Opening Credits
This season’s opening sequence features the cast dancing happily to vocal funk/jazz. The vocals were sung by Bobby McFerrin. Unlike the first three seasons, the opening credits featured the cast wearing some formal ’30s-style clothing with Bill Cosby wearing a top hat and tails, Tempestt Bledsoe wearing a Navy uniform similar to what performers would wear when performing to the troops in the USO. Malcolm-Jamal Warner wore a business suit and is seen looking at his watch then starts tapping his feet, etc. Geoffrey Owens (Elvin Tibideaux) is introduced to the regular cast by Cosby leading him into Sabrina LeBeauf’s credit scene, symbolizing Heathcliff Huxtable “giving away” his daughter Sondra to her new husband. Before the producer credits appear, Bill Cosby is briefly seen holding a picture of Lisa Bonet (Denise). Bonet does not appear as a regular this season, having departed for the spinoff series, A Different World.

Day 23 Most annoying character

Johnny Weeks from The Wire. Ziggy from season 2 is a strong contender, but Johnny beat him out.

I have a theory as to why. Because when paired up with Bubbs, there was uneven competition. They both are the quintessential dope fiend, plotting and scheming to get that next hit. But Bubbs is street smart. Bubbs makes several attempts at turning his life around, while Johnny has absolutely no interest in it. A dope fiend for life, which obviously leads him to his early demise.

I don’t know if it was the actor, or the scene itself, or I just plain ol’ dislike the character, but I hate each time Johnny Weeks on screen.

Day 22 Best pilot episode

One that I actually don’t mind watching over and over…

And here’s why: probably because it’s not ‘really’ a pilot.  We’d already been introduced to Lucretia, Batiatus, and a slew of other characters in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.  But because Andy (Spartacus) was recovering from cancer at the time, they couldn’t return with a second season right away.

So they came up with a solution in the meantime. Enter Gods of the Arena. A prequel to the actual first season. The stage had already been set. This was just a peek as to how we got there. So it helped that I was already invested in the characters.

But I can technically call it a pilot because it’s a different series with no Spartacus character.

Day 21 Favorite ship

CSI: Vegas — Warrick Brown and Catherine Willows.

There was always that underlying tension between Warrick and Catherine, and if he was going to be with anyone, I would’ve rather it have been Cath. I was just as hurt when it was revealed he’d gotten married to ‘Tina’…………………

But I’m not bitter.
