Yesterday was the 57th anniversary of the arrest of Rosa Parks. 57 years ago Rosa refused to move from her seat to the back of the bus.
It was only 57 years ago that it was legal to tell someone just because of their skin color they had to give up their seat. Discrimination like this was widely accepted, it took one brave person to stand up and fight it.
Yesterday President Obama visited the bus Rosa Parks was arrested in. It’s a powerful photo.
Don’t forget the recent past.
I’ve been to the Civil Rights Museum where the bus is kept. Where are the statues that are normally seated there?
I will say it’s an experience to see things such as this in person. Last time I went, I got so overcome with emotions that I was moved to tears. This is what so many before me fought for, was all I could think.

First things first, Google is always a friendly source.
Second, why would you want to take pictures of you in a voting booth, or of your ballot? You wanna document the occasion of you voting; fine. Take pictures once you’re outside wearing your “I Voted” sticker. Take it a step further, and try not to get other voters outside the polling place in your shot.
Some things are just better left private. You don’t have to blast everything on the internet.
